My name is Yukari Keye and I am the owner of Okina Wax salon. I’m certified in body waxing, and also as a body waxing instructor, by the Japanese Brazilian Waxing Association (JBWA). I specialize in waxing and have been working in the beauty industry since 2006.
When I first started in the industry, my children were very young, so I was able to work just a few hours a week. I offered nail service, aromatherapy massage (called aroma treatment in Japanese) and reflexology from my home salon.
Most of my customers were my close friends. I gradually started to get new clients from the base I was living on at the time. After moving to Okinawa, I worked at a local salon for a few years, until I opened Okina Wax in 2014.
Over the years, I’ve realized that I enjoy waxing the most, which is why I make it my main focus. Specializing in waxing allows me keep trained on the most effective waxing techniques and up-to-date on the best waxing products available. I also focus on keeping a warm, friendly and clean environment at my private salon. No double dipping allowed!
The best thing about waxing are the people I meet. I enjoy learning what each of my client needs, and figuring out how to meet those needs.
